The scene:  Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins is a college town (Colorado State University) that is a jumping off point to many outdoor activities. It will also host the 2019 Cru National Staff Conference and related training events in June and July.


The objective:  Foot of the Rockies will grow your faith as you live in Christian community and engage in discipleship, ministry training, study of the Bible, and outreach.  Your primary focus of ministry will be the spiritual formation of the kids you serve in either the Kids Care or Kids Camp summer program.  

The unique work/internship opportunities: To participate in the Foot of the Rockies Summer Mission you must be a college student who has been hired by either Kids Care / Kids Camp for this coming summer.  Once you have been hired by Kids Care / Kids Camp you can apply for Foot of the Rockies.  To find information on apply to be a counselor go here:  https://www.cru.org/cru19kids/how-to-apply/.

As a Kids Care/Kids Camp Counselor: You will be investing in kids!  Training in early childhood or elementary education is beneficial but not a necessity.  A love for and enjoyment of kids is a must for this position.

Spend the summer caring for Cru staff kids, infants through 5th graders. You will give basic care to young ones, teach Bible lessons, disciple and engage daily in activities that bring out your inner child.  The Day Camp setting is an approximately 40 hr. a week paid position. While this fun, developmental program is ideal for education majors, it is open to all.


The fun:  Our location offers limitless adventure and fun.  Be it a visit to Downtown Ft. Collins, rafting the Poudre river, exploring Denver, watching the Colorado Rockies, sliding at Water World, the Cheyenne rodeo, hiking at Horsetooth reservoir/mountain, ultimate frisbee and volleyball on the expansive Colorado State University IM fields, camping at Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, biking the trails of FoCo...You will not run out of things to do during your free time and/or during the planned socials as part of the Summer Mission.

The Cost:  Students on the summer mission have the option of raising $800 towards the cost of their room and board for the summer mission or they can opt to have the money deducted from their Kids Care or Kids Camp pay checks throughout the summer.
